The Ministry of Education is engaged in the roll out of a comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy and plan for the Ministry and its schools. An exciting opportunity exists for managers / ICT professionals to join our team. Applications are therefore invited to fill the following positions, on contract, for a period of three years. An attractive compensation package and other terms and conditions are being offered.

ONE (1) MANAGER ICT PROJECTS

JOB SUMMARY:-
The Manager ICT Projects will be responsible for all aspects of the Project Implementation and will need to work in close collaboration with other members of the ICT Division, Ministry of Education Users, and with a wide variety of Vendors, Contractors, Government Ministries and staff of other Ministry of Education Divisions.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Manages the Ministry of Education’s ICT portfolio of projects according to best-practice project management principles, including identification and allocation of project resources.
  • Contributes to the development and promotion of Project Management practices across the Ministry of Education.
  • Provides and enforces best practice guidance in Project Management to ensure consistent delivery of ICT projects, including project documentation guidelines and storage.
  • Conducts performance reviews and career development planning for staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to ICT, public sector administration, e-Business, Telecommunications or Computer Science.
  • At least five years practical and management experience in the fields of Project Management or e-Government Systems Implementation Management.
  • Certification in project management.
  • At least five years experience in managing teams in a fast paced project setting.
  • Practical experience in policy development and project management in the areas of e-Government and/or public sector reform.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
