Currently we have an outstanding opportunity available for an accomplished, results-driven individual to fill the position of Group Head, Credit Solutions at the Corporate Banking Centre.

The Group Head, Credit Solutions is responsible for contributing to the profitable growth and quality of the Bank’s Corporate and Commercial Credit portfolio through effective structuring and negotiating of the credit-related deals. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the delivery of financial solutions to the Client Relations Group. The Head is also responsible for ensuring superior service and support is provided to all clients, all sales officersand all products associated with the business portfolios. In addition, the incumbent must ensure that all appropriate controls, efficiency of operations, and processes relative to credit quality and profitability are maintained to minimize risk to the Bank and its customers as well as manage the Centre’s human and financial resources.

The successful incumbent must perform the following:

  • Provide prompt and sound financial analysis, structure and presentation of financial solutions.
  • Restructure marginal credit requests, where possible, to formulate a viable banking proposal within the constraints of sound credit granting, while keeping the Bank’s commitment to service levels.
  • Recommend pricing of loans with due regard to profit and competitive considerations, which yield returns commensurate with risk and other opportunity.
  • Ensure communications clearly convey the rationale for decisions in order to respond effectively to customer’s needs.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an acceptable quality commercial credit portfolio and ensures the Bank’s risk profile is mitigated.
  • Ensure all accounts/products are properly and continually monitored, meeting the criteria laid down by the Bank’s adjudicating, auditing, and compliance organizations.
  • Contribute to the professional development and lead a team of Credit Solutions Managers and Analysts.
  • Identify and research needs of particular industries and economic segments, and developing and recommending additions/revisions to the commercial credit policies to respond effectively and appropriately to their needs.
  • Meeting occasionally with customers, lawyers, or receivers where necessary, to develop action plans.

The selected candidate must process the following:

  • A thorough knowledge of the business of financial intermediation.
  • Proven skills in balance sheet analysis and risk assessment and must thoroughly understand the complexities of numerous financing mechanisms, as well as security documentation, legal ramifications and remedies, and bankruptcy and insolvency implications.
  • An extensive knowledge of the diverse industries in which loans are granted is required, as is an up-to-date awareness of economic, technological, and social trends and legislative issues potentially impacting both banking policies, as well as customers’ businesses. He/she must have a good knowledge and understanding of competitor practices and products offered.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.

Criteria:
A minimum of a University Degree in Business or Economics, plus relevant experience as outlined above.
