CONDITION BASED MONITORING (CBM) ENGINEER – ELECTRICAL
Summary
Acquires and analyses data with corresponding trends obtained through predictive and proactive maintenance techniques. Responsible for producing easily discernable reports supported by data. Suggest corrective actions needed to ensure reliable operation of equipment and guarantees optimum production levels. Strives to continuously improve the afore-mentioned processes of improving equipment reliability, and availability.
Position Overview:
- Accountability for personal safety and raising the standard of safety within the maintenance function.
- Acquire equipment operating data using predictive/condition based monitoring technologies, including but not limited to Vibration, Thermal, General Fluid, and
Electrical Current Analysis of equipment on different assets. - Accurately interpret afore mentioned data [using equipment history, and specific software], and communicate clear, complete corrective action recommendations as per Condition Based Monitoring Team Process Flow.
- Promote best practise with regards to techniques described above and make recommendations for improvement.
- Analyse the information through the comparison of parameters, international standards and tendencies.
- Report the operational, dynamic and overall condition of the equipment
emphasising on identified abnormalities and preventive actions required to be performed by specific discipline areas.
Qualifications/Training/Experience/General Requirements:
- Condition monitoring related certifications as follows: Certified on Interpretation of Thermal Imaging, and training in Motor Current Analysis [MCA], from Thermal Imaging, and MCA manufacturer.
- Condition monitoring related certification as per ISO-18436.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
An acceptable combination of alternate academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements stated above.
