Construction Procurement/Dispatcher/Clerical/Administrative Assistant

Good Day, My name is Laura Persad, and I live in California, USA. I was married in 2002; my husband is a Trinidad Citizen, and unsure he wants to become a citizen of the United States because he would like to eventually move back to Trinidad. I currently obtained my Associates degree in Business Administration, and am interested in the types of employment that is obtainable by U.S.A Citizens, within Trinidad. I am also searching on what is needed for a US Citizen to work in Trinidad, such as work permits, and Identification requirements.

I am currently unemployed due to the decline of residential construction in California, however the last 3 years I have been employed by Sukut Construction, a Mass Grading construction company. Sukut is ranked the 224th largest contractor in the nation, among the nation's Top 10 Storm and Floodwater Systems Contractors and is the nation's #1 Landfill and Environmental Cleanup Contractor, according to Engineering News Record Magazine. With more than 600 employees and 30 major projects, revenue projections total more than $250 million for 2007. (Sukut.com, 2008).
My role as a Dispatcher required me to purchase supplies, material, heavy equipment (operated and non-operated), small tools, and localized union personnel for 50+ jobsites. This position was a very fast paced position with heavy phones and heavy data entry. This position also requires awesome vendor relations and negotiation skills in order to meet budget constraints.

I have over 10 year of experience in clerical positions, and I am an advanced user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point). I also hold a certificate in Telephone Etiquette, and work well within a team environment or on individual projects. My organizational skills help me to work in fast paced environments with ease, and these types of environments are what I enjoy most.
