CAREER OPPORTUNITIES (Contract)

The International Affairs Desk of the Ministry of National Security is the Unit which coordinates the efficient and effective delivery of all security, law enforcement, defence and civil support programmes and projects requiring an interface and engagement with local, regional and international agencies. Applications are invited from suitably qualified nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to fill the following contract positions in the International Affairs Desk, Ministry of National Security.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Role: Reporting to the International Affairs Coordinator, the incumbent will assist with designing and planning of relevant research activities of the Desk. He/she will contribute to the development of the conceptual and methodological frameworks that will be used to guide decision-making at the leadership level of the Ministry.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists in the research, analysis and preparation of reports.
• Creates and maintains a subject area library.
• Prepares charts, diagrams and research papers for executive briefing purposes.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• BSc in Social Science with a minor in International Relations or BSc International Relations.
• At least one (1) year’s experience as a Researcher in an international organisation or in a security environment will be an asset.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in either Spanish or French.
