The Ministry of Education is engaged in the roll out of a comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy and plan for the Ministry and its Schools. An exciting opportunity exists for managers / ICT professionals to join our team. Applications are therefore invited to fill the following positions, on contract, for a period of three years. An attractive compensation package and other terms and conditions are being offered.

ONE (1) MANAGER ICT BUSINESS SYSTEMS

JOB SUMMARY:-
The Manager ICT Business Systems is responsible for the ongoing identification, planning, design, development/procurement and successful support/maintenance of Ministry of Education’s Business Process ICT Applications.

KEY DUTIES AND ESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Manages the Business Systems Application portfolio according to best-practice application management principles, including requirements management, configuration management, and release management.
  • Provides and enforces best practice guidance in application lifecycle management to ensure consistent development.
  • Deploys and manages Business Systems across and Ministry of Education.
  • Directs studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
  • Makes recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organisational changes.
  • Performs Business Systems upgrades and applies fixes to correct errors as part of system maintenance after implementation.
  • Conducts performance reviews and career development planning for staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to ICT and e-Business, Computer Science, Computer Business Systems or Management Information Systems.
  • At least ten years practical and management experience in the field of ICT Project Administration.
  • At least two years practical and management experience n the filed of public sector administration or e-Government.
  • At least five years experience in managing teams in a fast-paced project setting.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
