Contract Positions

The Ministry of Education is engaged in the roll out of a comprehensive Information and Communications Technology (ICT) strategy and plan for the Ministry and its Schools. An exciting opportunity exists for managers / ICT professionals to join our team. Applications are therefore invited to fill the following positions, on contract, for a period of three years. An attractive compensation package and other terms and conditions are being offered.

ONE (1) MANAGER ICT EDUCATION SYSTEMS

JOB SUMMARY:-
The Manager Education Systems is responsible for the ongoing identificatio, planning, design, development/procurement and successful support/maintenancej of Ministry of Education's Core Process ICT Applications.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Manages the Education Systems Application Portfolio according to best practice Application Management principles, including requirements, configuration and release management.
  • Oversees and coordinates work of others to develop, test, install, and modify applications.
  • Directs studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs, including making recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organisational changes.
  • Analyses and evaluates programs and systems to determine how well they meet the requirements of Educational Systems users.
  • Oversees continuity management, ensuring preparations are made for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  • Conducts performance reviews and career development planning for staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:-

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to ICT and e-Business, Computer Science, Computer Business Systems or Management Information Systems.
  • At least ten years practical and management experience in the fields of ICT Project Administration.
  • At least two years practical and management experience in the fields of public sector administration or e-Government.
  • At least five years experience in managing teams in a fast-paced project setting.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
