LEGAL AND REGULATORY ADVISOR

Job Summary:
Primary objectives will be to support the work of the Legal and Regulatory Manager and the Head of the Legal and Regulatory Department across the range of legal and regulatory issues faced by the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides legal advice and support on all areas of the company’s business, including potentially contentious issues.
• Ensures company-wide compliance with legal and regulatory framework.
• Drafts, reviews and advises on issues arising from commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provides support to external counsel.
• Attends internal and external meetings and coordinates and implements follow up actions where action is required from the Legal and Regulatory Department.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university and admission to practice in Trinidad & Tobago, with 2-4 years consecutive experience in the practice of law including experience in land law, conveyance law, commercial law, drafting of commercial contracts and leases, intellectual property, labour law, civil litigation and public law.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
