The Education Facilities Company Limited (EFCL) is a special purpose Company established by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. The EFCL is a dynamic, fast-paced project management Organisation which manages Ministry of Education School Construction, Repair and Maintenance Programme in support of the Government’s reform of the education system of Trinidad and Tobago.

Financial Accountant
Position Purpose
The Financial Accountant reports the Divisional Manager Finance and manages the day to day operations of the Finance Department. He or she is also responsible for the timely preparation of financial accounts of the Company.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Financial Accountant is responsible for among others:
- Developing and implementing effective financial controls,
- Preparing of budgets.
- Monitoring all expenditure and ensure compliance with budget.
- Ensuring the preparation and approval of the organisation’s payroll and the timely returns to the relevant statutory authorities.
- Distributing work assignments to subordinates and monitor the completion of same.
- Preparing timely and appropriate reports.
- Assisting with cash flow/treasury management
- Liaising with External Auditors.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
The incumbent should have be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA) or the holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline with three (3) years experience in a similar position. Strong financial management and analytical skills as well as a strong IT competency with accounting software packages (Peachtree) and Microsoft Office Suite with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel will be an asset.
